Here’s a blast from the past! Last year, I shot a tour of my previous van with Brian from Cheap RV Living. A lot has changed since then, most notably a different van. But the video just dropped this morning, so here’s a grand tour of Smokey the First.
I first learned about this way of life when YouTube started showing me Cheap RV Living videos. Now I’ve come full circle, with my own van and my own story being featured there as “DIY Van Life Brilliance.” I had nothing to do with that title, but it’s quite flattering.
If you came to this website from that video, welcome! I’ve since swapped the 2004 Ford E250 for Smokey II, my 2021 Ford Transit 350. I did a big loop of the US last year and am back in Arizona for another winter. I’m not sure what this year’s travel will involve, but stay tuned, and we’ll find out together.
