The Rubber Tramp Rendezvous is the official nomad gathering of Bob Wells and the Homes On Wheels Alliance. It’s happening right here in Quartzsite this year. One thing led to another, and suddenly I find myself doing a presentation about basic online connectivity for the road at the RTR! I’ll be presenting with fellow digital nomad Amanda Yantos, a.k.a. Adventuring with Amanda.
If you’ve been following my journey, the info I’ll be presenting is nothing new. I’ve already described how I stay online from the road, as well as my thoughts on cellular signal boosters. We’ll be dialing it several steps back in this presentation, covering the fundamentals of getting online while you’re on the road. It’ll cover topics like where to find free WiFi, how to use your phone as a hotspot, and how to use a dedicated standalone hotspot. I’m pretty tech-savvy, but not everyone is, and this presentation is for those who aren’t. (In fact, I’ll probably write a guide for the website based on this presentation.)
This presentation will take place on Tuesday, January 18, at 2:00 pm, at the ball field in the Quartzsite town park. Let me know if you’re coming to the RTR, whether you attend my presentation or not. I’d love to meet you!
